100 Days of School

Today we are celebrating being at school for 100 days. Every morning we look at the place value of our new number. We are learning numbers how to write two digit numbers to 100 and how many basic facts we can think of. We are now 100 days smarter :-)

Our Wonderful Room 7 Violinist.

Today JW brought in her violin to play for us. We sat very quietly waiting for JW to begin and then WOW. We were so impressed. Thank you JW...you are an awesome musician.

Changes in the Kitchen

Today we made Meringues with Mrs Ready. It was a great way to explore the changes in eggs after they are mixed and heated. We are all looking forward to tasting them this afternoon. Thank you so much Mrs Ready for sharing your culinary expertise with us.

Road Safety

The children had a fun surprise today when Ronald McDonald came to perform a Road Safety show. The children were entertained and learnt some important messages, in a fun interactive way.

The Fantastic Room 7 Readers.

As assessment for reports is currently underway, it is great to see that children are all progressing well. Many children are working towards developing fluency. This is what a fluent reader sounds like:
*Pays attention to punctuation.
*Reads the words smoothly.
*Reads at a 'just right pace'.
*Pays attention to dialogue.
*Emphasises important words.
*Uses his / her own volume to fit the mood.

Mother's Day Breakfast

It was great to see lots of Room 7 Mothers at the annual Mother's Day breakfast. There were bacon butties, scones with jam and cream and a prize drawer for three lucky mums who won gorgeous flowers by Succulent. Thank you to all our lovely mums.
